This guide represents the most commonly recommended filler metals for welding ASTM steels with SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) and GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding), and FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding) processes. Obsolete and non-weldable steels have not been included in this guide. Recommended filler metals are listed by AWS Classification. To find the corresponding Hobart Filler Metal, see page 79.
